In 1989 the CRP Henri Tudor decided, in dialogue with major luxembourgish actors, to create the Centre de Ressources Multimédia (CR-MM). This initiative created local competencies and services for the development of a multimedia industry in a national and regional environment.
This centre addresses directly the enterprises and institutions working in the multimedia domain by transferring the missions to the resource centres. The different missions were defined in the form of single projects. The objectives are :
Doing this the CR-MM managed in the last years to attain a notably large set of services and competencies, that requested a more formalised structure. In 1995 the multimedia department of the CRP Henri Tudor was extended by the Laboratoire d'Ingénierie du Multimédia (LIM). From this time on the CR-MM is responsible for all services inside the multimedia department while the LIM is handling the realisation of all projects in work groups
